The ones who are not staying in line and cutting ahead are the EB3 folks who are porting to EB2 ! Their line is the EB3 line. But they want to cut into the EB2 line whenever convenient. Atleast thats how most EB2 (and EB3) folks perceive the PD porting process.

I have a question from members who are getting ADIT Processing message. When did you file your I-485's? I am trying to figure out if USCIS is approving cases for those who filed recently w/o waiting for the ADIT or is it that the case was filed long time back and the previous ADIT has expired.

the different initiatives that IV has taken up for EB3, which I guess you are not aware of.
As you don't want to donate or volunteer what makes you think that you can tell IV on what to do and what not to do.. Are you even associated in anyways.
I have never ever seen such a big thankless following of a group. Everyone is in trouble and everyone has problem but cannot donate.
Wanted to write a lot more , but I think its not worth it. I just hope your conscious makes you feel ashamed of this attitude of yours.

Cornyn bill as I read it is better than the other bills for US Masters holders in non STEM area ex someone like myself with an MBA.
As far as I read it basically it says to be quota exempt you should
1) Have Masters or higher from US Univ.
2) Have Masters in STEM and 3 yrs exp. (even if Masters is from outside US).
So based on this logic even if someone has MA in English from US Univ they will be quota exempt, correct ???

Atlast all my checks are cashed today. I am able to get my case number from the checks. Even though INS received my application on June 6th, in my 485 it says that they have received my application only on June 11th. Wonder why?

IV effort needs 50 thousand dollars to make sure we can meet our immediate needs and also make a big impact via this advocacy day event. There are several large and small expenses like booking hotel conference room near Capitol hill for organizing the event/situation room, Organizing reception for lawmakers, their staffers, and administration officials to attend, creating advocacy packets for each appointment taken, advocacy firm fees for helping out with a large event like this etc. We can plan more ideas like Press briefing event, full page ads in national newspapers if we can have sufficient resources. This event will most certainly bring our issues to the national center stage and help us get much needed immigration relief in the months ahead. IV is starting this campaign ahead of time to better plan and execute our advocacy day (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum85-action-items-for-everyone/1901186-action-item-advocacy-days-in-washington-dc-in-april-2011-a.html).
We are a small grassroots organization with a strong resolve and when we all pool in our energies, intelligence and resources; we can all collectively create wonders. Despite our full time jobs, IV core is committed to work harder and we are happy to have the asset of a large IV community to support us in this mammoth task.

We are a small grassroots organization with a strong resolve and when we all pool in our energies, intelligence and resources; we can all collectively create wonders. We do not want our limited funds to stop us from going all out. Despite our full time jobs, IV core is committed to work harder and we are happy to have the asset of a large IV community to support us in this mammoth task.
This post is to urge everyone to come forward and help yourself in this short term funding drive. If you have not contributed till now, please consider contributing. If you cannot make it to DC due to personal or professional reasons then do show your admiration for our effort. If you have recently received your green cards, then please consider contributing as a way of celebrating and endorsing our effort. Times are tough for any immigration relief and in tough times we have to work harder to get anything done. Your contribution, words of support and enthusiasm helps everybody to maintain higher level of motivation which is so important for this kind of community effort. It is up to each member if you feel from your heart to contribute towards this cause. That's the reason I said if we at least get 1000 members then we can ask core members and get their help. members should seriously think if they can make it before they saying yes.. I think even Friday option works as member can take long weekend and spend weekend in DC. We will also get to know all IV members.

Are you serious? If people are so much interested in getting a GC and would like to make an impact, a day's work should not be a big deal. Forget the weekend stuff as DC streets have no federal government business on weekends. There are some guys who are willing to drive from NY/NJ/NC.
Even if we take the poll and lets say 500 people would like to come, that number will become 250 or less as most of us will have last minute issues as usual :p

How can contributing $1000.00 to immigration voice solves this problem? You are telling like a swami's in India, give me money I will do some pooja on your behalf and all your problems will be solved.
The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years. And procrastinating their American Dream because of the limitations they have during the GC process.
Active participation or contribution of 10 or 20 or 100 people wont be any effective unless and untill we all do it collectively.

In my opinion the issues, advantages & disadvantages change from country to country. It depends on a person how S/He applies those yardsticks during & to particular circumstances. One thing I can not agree more about is the opportunities in education available in US compared to India. I know people will be all over me after saying this but inspite of cost being the factor (which unfortunately is also a factor in case of some good institutions in India now) the avenues available to young generation in US irrespective of their cast/religion/race & financial ability is comparitively greater in US.
More importantly most of us will be able to adjust to changes relatively quickly but if we have kids who are raised in this system & are at high school level it will be really challanging for them to enter the system in India.
